Hello, I am Mia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the cards for our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built VistaBasketBud
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Canada.
What This Website Is About (And What It Isn’t)
This site represents:
- Practical, real-world experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
